We had an incredible time at the FSM Awards in Coventry last week, where Thermocable bagged the ‘highly commended’ spot for our commitment to improving in ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) practices over the last year.

Our approach – spearheaded by Manufacturing and Compliance Director, Philip Wilkie, has included detailed office renovations and a more stringent supply-chain process, which has led to a c50% decrease in heating, and an energy consumption reduction of c85%.

Prioritising ESG, flexible working and the gender pay-gap review has seen our headcount grow by 15.3% in the last year, with our female to male ratio increasing to 2:5 (at the time of submission).

Additionally shortlisted for Fire Safety Manufacturer of the Year, we were recognised for our innovative ProReact EN Analogue – Thermocableproduct range, which is the first resettable linear heat detector approved to EN54 standards. As the only type of linear heat detector that has automatic ambient temperature adjustments, this drastically reduces the risk of false alarms, and provides cost and time efficiencies during installation.

Networking with industry professionals, listening to a brilliant set from comedian, Jason Manford, and sharing a table with our wonderful sister company, Cranford Controls, we had a great time celebrating!

Thanks to all those who contributed to getting us to this fabulous night – it is incredible that we were shortlisted for two categories, and we couldn’t have done this without every single employee.
