Yesterday marked Thermocable’s one year ‘anniversary’ as part of the Halma team, and we decided to celebrate in style – which naturally meant pizza, balloons, and lots of nostalgia!
Joining the global group of life-saving companies in February 2023, as part of the safety sector, we have been immersing ourselves in the culture of Halma ever since – working towards creating a safer, cleaner and healthier future for everyone.
So, please excuse us for a moment while we indulge in a somewhat Dickensian reflection on where we’ve been, where we are now, and where we’re going in the future…
A Year in Review
The last 12 months have been monumental for the evolution of Thermocable. We’ve entered new markets, gained traction in the industry, and continued to develop our pioneering linear heat detection (LHD) technology – all while reviewing the business’ larger array of third party accredited products (thanks to HFL, Antoine)!
In addition to this, we have seen:
- Expansion of the team – investing in marketing, commercial, financial and operational colleagues, we’re laying strong foundations now for a continued period of growth. Watch this space!
- Bradford HQ office renovations – creating more space, knocking down walls, upgrading the 90’s décor and installing our very own ProReact technology in the ceiling voids, we will be opening our new and improved facilities to the wider Halma group over the coming months
- Continuing to raise awareness of LHD – as a type of early fire detection, designed to generate either an alarm, or automatically activate a fire suppression system, our LHD cables are suitable for use in the majority of dirty, dusty and hard to maintain environments – including damp, humid and unforgiving conditions. As the global leader in LHD technology and manufacturing, our products save lives and livelihoods, 1 metre at a time (…did we mention we also created a new strapline?!)
- Record financial year – this one speaks for itself!
- New accounting and HR systems – spearheaded by our very own FD, Alice Ham, with the support of our parent group, Apollo Fire Detectors
- A successful Intersec exhibition – partnering up with Halma business, FFE, we saw a huge success at this year’s Intersec, meeting new clients, existing contacts, and lots of our wider colleagues. With more exhibitions in the pipeline for this year, we are looking forward to retaining this traction
The Future is Bright
Maintaining Thermocable’s strong culture, we are incredibly proud of the roots we have built across 6 decades of research, development and cultivation. We wouldn’t be where we are today, without the last 60 years!
