Fixed Activation
Thermocable’s Fixed Temperature Linear Heat Detection (previously known as digital linear heat detection) provides dependable, easy-to-install fire detection for industries where conditions are too harsh for conventional spot detectors.
This two-core cable uses a temperature-sensitive polymer that melts at a predefined threshold (e.g., 68°C, 78°C, 88°C, 105°C, or 185°C), triggering an irreversible alarm. It’s perfect for high-risk, long-distance applications where rapid detection is critical – such as:
Designed with simplicity and reliability at its core. Fixed Temperature LHD activates at a pre-set temperature anywhere along the cable, offering robust protection across cable trays, tunnels, storage tanks, and other high-risk areas.
Why Choose Fixed Temperature LHD?

Applications Across Critical Sectors
Fixed LHD is engineered for industries where reliability and robustness matter most:
- Industrial
protects machinery, conveyor systems, and transformer bays with dependable detection that minimises downtime - Infrastructure
ideal for tunnels, car parks, and cable trays, where long runs demand continuous coverage and harsh conditions make spot detectors impractical - Oil & Gas
proven performance in hazardous areas such as refineries, storage tanks, and offshore facilities, where downtime and safety risks are unacceptable - Energy & Renewables
localised overheating risks in solar farms and battery energy storage systems (BESS) - Warehousing & Cold Storage
reliable detection across large storage areas and chilled environments, with fixed alarm temperatures that cut through dust, condensation, and low ambient conditions.
Built for Distributors, Specifiers, and Operators
- For distributors, it’s a clear differentiator in the market: resettable, programmable, and internationally approved. Easy to explain, easy to sell
- For fire safety engineers, it’s a product that adds to their portfolio, which integrates seamlessly into complex fire detection systems
- For facility managers, it’s dependable coverage that keeps operations running without costly false alarms or downtime.
