Thermocable Welcomes Fifth Halma Catalyst to the Team!
With the aim of developing future leaders capable of sitting on a company board within seven years, the Halma Catalyst programme is far more than a traditional graduate scheme.
It is a highly selective, global development pathway designed to give early-career talent exposure to real business challenges helping grow a safer, cleaner, healthier future for everyone, every day.
In addition to being an amazing opportunity for recent graduates, this programme is absolutely phenomenal for businesses, as we can attest to.
Welcoming Thermocable's fifth consecutive Halma Catalyst to the team (along with desperately trying to hold onto our fourth, Damien Tafadzwa Muchechetere), we couldn't be more thrilled to announce the appointment of Rafe Dickie as our ERP Project Lead.
A Proven Track Record Across Functions and Markets
Before joining Thermocable, Rafe's catalyst journey had already crossed borders, taking him from Windsor to the United States, gaining experience across different roles and markets along the way.
His first rotation was at Keeler, where Rafe worked as an Inventory Optimisation Analyst, supporting portfolio and product lifecycle decisions across multiple product lines. Through structured analysis, he helped inform investment priorities and obsolesence planning, translating insight into practical decision-making.
His second rotation took him to the United States with Sensit Technologies, where Rafe worked in business development for the environmental emissions monitoring portfolio. Based in Indiana and living in Chicago, Rafe carried out market and customer analysis to identify growth opportunities, supporting execution through direct customer engagement and conference activity across the USA.
Together, these rotations have given Rafe broad exposure to portfolio strategy, commercial execution, and international market development.
Driving Operational Transformation at Thermocable
For his final rotation, Rafe joins Thermocable within the Operations and Manufacturing team, taking on the role of ERP Project Lead.
Following Thermocable's recent relocation to a new facility, the business is entering an important phase of operational development. During this rotation, Rafe will work closely across Manufacturing, Warehouse, Finance, and Sales to support the planning and implementation of an upgraded ERP system.
The project will focus on aligning business processes, improving system integration, and supporting the company's future growth by ensuring robust, efficient operational foundations.
Commenting on his final rotation, Rafe said: "I am thrilled to be welcomed into Thermocable, thank you for having me! Looking forward to throwing myself into all things operations and working with the lovely team here. This exciting project is going to be a steep learning curve for me and one that will stand me in good stead beyond my last rotation on the Halma Catalyst Programme"
Outside of work, Rafe is a keen golfer and tennis player and enjoys staying active. He also doesn't mind a bit of skiing, and his enthusiasm for physical challenges will be a perfect fit for Thermocable's fundraising activities in the coming months!
Here's to the Next 8 Months
Growing from strength to strength since joining the Halma group, we can't think of a more exciting time to be a part of the Thermocable journey.
We are delighted to be welcoming Rafe to our team. As ERP project lead, Rafe will be integral in delivering the project to upgrade our current ERP. This a key project for our business and critical in our continued growth and with Rafe leading the project we couldn't be more confident in its success!
